Bought this for my husband to wear on the golf course. Started off with the vest on high and turned it off at the turn! No bulk to interfere with swing.

I purchased this heated vest for my father-in-law. After a recent cancer surgery, he could not stay warm regardless of how many clothes he piled on. He's an avid outdoorsman and loves attending local high school basketball games. He stayed so cold he could not enjoy himself and had started giving up on some activities. After a couple of months, it finally dawned on me to look at Gerbing heated vests like I once used when I was riding motorcycles all the time. Was glad to see that a rechargeable battery vest was available. That was the perfect choice. When the vest arrived at my house, I made sure it was fully charged (took about 3 hours the first time from 1 LED showing on the level) and we took it to him. He was excited when it started heating up within a few minutes and he could feel how well it covered his back, which is where he's mostly struggling with being cold. He got a bit choked up when he realized that the vest was going to help him. For my father-in-law, the heated vest was much more than a comfort item. This lets him get out and enjoy the things that he loves. It truly helped him both physically and mentally.

I live in Alaska and I got this vest as a gift to go under my motorcycle jacket on the chilly fall and spring rides. I figured until my bike got out of storage I’d try it out just around town, taking my kids to the bus stop, etc. the fit and feel is really good and it has some decent insulating properties without the heater, but the actual heating elements are a joke. I can run this at full heat under a jacket walking around a store and can barely feel it. I also have another brands heated jacket, with much the same material, and I have to turn that to medium or low because it gets too hot. If I walk outside (even with another jacket over the vest) I can’t feel the heat at all. Good vest, very poor heating. Probably just stick to my thermal gear for rides this year.

I am thinking about something for biking in the winter. Is this machine Washable?

This is a really high-quality vest and I love the feature to warm the neck. I've bought several heated vests and jackets; I like the vests more because jackets don't have heated arms and vests can be worn under jackets for extra warmth. The customer support is excellent! I was missing the battery and charger and they shipped it right away during the busy Christmas season. I'm definitely committed to this vendor now.

I bought this for my brother after much research. He is a winter golfer in the Chicago area, weather permitting. The extra neck warming area is what sets this vest apart from others
